Austin TX -The Independent Women's Football League is proud to announce that the Louisville Nightmare have been awarded a full membership license and will join the league’s growing roster of teams for the 2009 season. The Louisville Nightmare come to the IWFL as a new team, however the individuals that comprise the management, staff, and roster of this new team have been involved with the sport for the past two seasons. The Nightmare will be placed in the IWFL Eastern Conference where they will face solid competition from some of the most exciting teams in the sport like the Clarksville Fox and Tennessee Valley Tigers. “The members of this team have achieved great things on the football field and we expect them to be very successful in 2009,” said Kezia Disney, IWFL Chief Operating Officer. “The Louisville Nightmare is excited for the opportunity to expand the tradition of women’s football in the Kentucky area with the IWFL. Our coaches and players look forward to continuing some old competitive rivalries as well as forming some new ones." stated Louisville Nightmare Delegate Mary Clark. The Louisville Nightmare is Louisville, Kentucky’s women’s tackle football team. Founded in 2008, the new team business hopes to elevate women’s football in the Louisville area by providing the best opportunity for players and fans to enjoy the sport at its top level. The Nightmare enters the 2009 season with a veteran staff and roster (formerly associated with another local team) returning to compete in a new league. About the IWFL Founded in 2000, the Independent Women’s Football League (IWFL) is an international women’s tackle football organization. The IWFL provides women’s tackle football teams the opportunity to play at the top competition tier of their sport, while fostering an environment of goodwill and sportsmanship throughout the organization. The IWFL is the standard bearer for quality in the sport of women’s tackle football. Offering participation levels appropriate for all markets the IWFL has taken the lead in the development of women’s football for future generations.
